The basic cleaning routine

Isopropyl alcohol (90 percent or higher) plus coarse salt remains the standard. Empty the piece of water, pour ISO and salt in, plug the openings, and shake. Rinse with hot water. For stubborn buildup, soak overnight in ISO. Repeat until clear.

How often

For daily-use pieces, a deep clean every 1 to 2 weeks. For occasional pieces, after every few sessions. The longer you wait, the harder buildup is to remove. ISO penetrates fresh resin quickly; old resin requires soaking time.

Banger and quartz care

Wipe the banger after each dab with a cotton swab while still warm. Don't let residue build between sessions; it'll char and leave permanent discoloration. For deeper cleaning, dunk in ISO between dabs. Replace bangers when they crack or frost beyond cleaning.

What to avoid

Boiling water poured over cold glass cracks pieces. Strong scented dish soap leaves residue that ruins flavor. Acetone is too aggressive for some glass and can damage seals. Stick to ISO and salt.

Storage

Keep glass in padded cases or away from where it can fall. The drop test is the leading cause of broken glass in our customers' homes. A 20 dollar padded case has saved many 200 dollar pieces.
